If you like to eat out there is an abundance of choice, with food from many cultures, including for instance Italian, Indian and even Vietnamese.

As Bishipston is bisected by this major arterial road, getting around isn’t a problem. Buses frequently run up and down the road and there is a quick route up to the M5 and across to the M32 by car. The small train stations of Montpellier and Redland are also nearby which provide access to Temple Meads.

If you have children, there are a handful of primary schools in the area and depending on which end of Bishopston you live in, either Redland Green or The Orchid secondary schools may be an option. There are one or two green spaces with play facilities and Horfield Leisure Centre is nearby with a council run swimming pool and other facilities.

Away from Gloucester Road, Kellaway Avenue has a range of shops and is also a good link road to Redland and Henleaze.

Perhaps Bishopston’s most unique feature is the County Cricket Ground, which for cricket fans is a treat on the doorstep. As well as being the home of Gloucestershire it occasionally hosts England Internationals. You will also find Bristol Rovers’ Memorial Stadium a little further up the road.
